Officine Panerai backs Dubai boat show
Dubai

Officine Panerai, an Italian fine watchmaking company with a passion for creating high precision timepieces, has announced plans to become the ‘Supporting Partner’ of the 18th Dubai International Boat Show which begins next month.

The boat show will play host to 12 global premieres and 25 regional launches by some of the most famous manufacturers in the leisure marine industry.

On DIBS partnership, Angelo Bonati, CEO of Officine Panerai, said: “The boat show has become a must-attend event on Dubai calendar and attracts a vast number of marine enthusiasts and sea lovers; therefore it provides the perfect platform for Panerai to share our passion for sea and showcase our innovative and timeless creations.”

The luxury Italian watch brand’s involvement in the show is a natural extension of the brand’s rich heritage, he noted.

In the 1930’s Officine Panerai became supplier to the Italian Navy of sophisticated, high precision devices for underwater military use.

Panerai instruments were immediately distinguished due to their exceptional characteristics exploiting a degree of technology that at the time was groundbreaking. Amongst the multitudes of ideas and instruments realised, a special range of watches was created specifically designed for use in extreme and highly risky conditions, Bonati explained.

“Officine Panerai is a natural partner to the DIBS, with its 150 years of nautical heritage,” said Helal Saeed Almarri, CEO, Dubai World Trade Centre. “The boat show provides an ideal platform for international companies such as Officine Panerai to showcase their latest products to a high-level visitor profile and build strong business relationships across the region.”

As a ‘Supporting Partner’ of the show, Panerai will have a presence in the VIP Majilis, with sophisticated display towers featuring selected pieces from its collection of Panerai watches. The lounge will be dedicated specifically to VIP’s attending the show in an enriching and inspiring atmosphere.

'Panerai has always had such a strong affinity to the sea and their timepieces are revered by luxury connoisseurs across the world for their technical innovation, design and craftsmanship,' Mohammed Abdul Magied Seddiqi, vice president, Sales & Retail, Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons.

'The Dubai boat show is a draw card for people seeking high-end products related to the marine industry; therefore this is an appealing platform for existing and potential Panerai customers. The fact we have the Panerai boutique at Dubai Mall presents a tremendous opportunity to showcase some of the collections at the VIP Majilis at the show,” he added.

The five-day event will be held at Dubai International Marine Club – Mina Seyahi starting from March 9. The show is open to trade visitors and general public, from 3pm – 9.30pm daily.-TradeArabia News Service
