Union Coop's UAQ mixed-use project set for 2021 completion

Union Coop, the largest consumer cooperative in the UAE, has announced that work on its new residential and commercial project at Al Salamah – Area 3 in the northern emirate of Umm Al Quwain was progressing as per schedule and would be ready by the end of 2021.
 
The project has been designed and implemented as per the latest local and international architectural standards, as a part of the Union Coop’s objective for the implementation of world-class projects at the least possible costs. 
 
It features a basement, ground floor and first and second floors with a total built-up area of 201,707 sq ft. The Umm Al Quwain complex includes a 35,732-sq-ft hypermarket with 15 shops and 70 residential apartments in addition to 233 parking lots distributed on the basement, ground floors and outside the building. 
 
Moreover, it will also have the latest showroom furnishing equipment of refrigerators, shelves and display units that can house more than 40,000 food and non-food commodities, in addition to fresh food sections with fishery, butchery and bakery. 
 
On the project, CEO Khalid Humaid bin Diban Al Falasi said: "The preliminary and excavation works for project has already been completed. We expect that as per the project timeline, construction of the building structure will be completed by December next year.
 
The CEO further pointed out that by changing the project contractor, Union Coop had saved Dh6 million, bringing the project cost from Dh52 million to Dh46 million, while ensuring the best designs, specifications and international standards and work as per the cutting-edge technologies.-TradeArabia News Service
