Samsung unveils new digital content retail store

DUBAI, February 22, 2018

Samsung Electronics Middle East and North Africa (Mena), showcased Samsung Cue, the company’s first digital content retail store and multimedia entertainment service in the world, launched exclusively in the Mena region.

The new service gives customers access to an unprecedented offering of personalized entertainment including music, magazines and ringtones, said a statement from Samsung.

Consumers now have unlimited access to an extensive streaming library of all the latest music, as well as expertly curated playlists, thousands of ringtones, and a collection of both regional and local magazines - all in the palm of their hands with an easy and convenient purchasing system, it added.

Speaking at the launch, Abdo Chlala, the VP of Mobile Division at Samsung Electronics Mena office, said: "With Samsung Cue, we are taking advantage of an exciting opportunity to fulfil the entertainment needs of a vast and diverse region. In the Mena region, which has one of the youngest populations in the world, we understand that our consumers’ needs are unique, which is why we are striving to meet them.”

“At Samsung, we want our consumers to be able to access content that’s tailored to their interests, and we want the user experience to be easy and interactive. That’s where Samsung CUE comes in: it’s a one-stop-shop to everything they are looking for,” he added.

Samsung Cue allows users to stream and own their favourite music by offering a music store and streaming service all within the same platform.

Customers subscribed to the “All the Music” subscription on Samsung Cue will have unlimited access to its entire music library, as well as a wide range of expertly-curated playlists from which users can save their favourite tunes to access at any time offline.

"Samsung Cue also allows customers to create their own music collection by purchasing and downloading their favorite songs from an updated library of the latest songs and albums. And with an easy checkout process that offers a choice of credit card or carrier billing, listening to the best music is simpler than ever," stated Chlala.

On the Samsung Cue app, consumers have access to all their favourite magazines in the palm of their hand. Users can flip through the region’s leading magazines on their phone – including a wide range of top titles from the leading publishers in Mena.

All available magazines are perfectly optimized for Samsung products, providing an enjoyable and immersive reading experience with content and colors that are just as vivid and accurate as the print versions.

It has thousands of ringtones for consumers to choose from, allowing users to easily browse through popular ringtones and purchase the ones that reflect their style, said an excited Chlala.

According to him, there’s something for everyone on Samsung Cue.

"Groove to your favourite music, regardless of the genre; enjoy your favorite magazines in any genre, including sports, fashion, cars, business and news amongst many others; and personalize your style with a ringtone suited to you," he stated.

The service is available in 17 countries across the Mena region and can be installed from Samsung’s Galaxy App Store.-TradeArabia News Service
