City Centre Ajman ... Dh600-million redevelopment under way.

City Centre Ajman to host new F&B and retail stores

AJMAN, July 25, 2017

City Centre Ajman is set to become bigger and better with new restaurants boasting al fresco dining, cafes, stylish retail outlets and value stores.

The mall, which is owned and operated by Majid Al Futtaim, a leading shopping mall, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East and North Africa, is undergoing a comprehensive Dh600-million ($163.35 million) redevelopment to almost double in size, from 29,000 sq m to 52,000 sq m.

Taking into consideration customers’ feedback and request for more F&B and retail options in Ajman, the redevelopment will see the addition of more than 10 new stores this year. Several brands will also be making their debut in Ajman as part of the new phase, a statement said.

City Centre Ajman will become the centre for family gatherings with new international restaurants offering al fresco dining to enjoy the outdoors. Diners can feast on freshly made Italian pizzas at the new Pizza Express or sit down for a Portuguese meal at the flavour-packed Nando’s restaurant that will be in the newly created wing of the mall.

Gastronomes will be able to dive into traditional Turkish cuisine when Mado opens as part of the expansion. The Turkish cafe chain has more than 300 stores around the world, and will bring its signature ice-creams combined with traditional pastries for visitors to City Centre Ajman this year.
Patchi, the decadent chocolate makers that have more than 175 boutiques around the world, will satisfy the sweet cravings of customers with its scrumptious variety of high-quality chocolate creations when it joins the selection of F&B outlets.

Coffee lovers have plenty to look forward to with more cafes opening. Starbucks, which is currently under renovation, will reopen with more seating and a wider grab-and-go menu. The popular Canadian multinational fast-food restaurant Tim Hortons will be bringing its mouth-watering doughnuts and sandwiches to pair with a strong cup of your favourite hot beverage any time of the day.

As part of Majid Al Futtaim’s commitment to further improve the retail experience for residents and tourists in the emirate, the mall will unveil some of the best international stores and brands at the end of the month, the statement said.

Visitors will be able to take their pick of watches, perfumes and cosmetics from a diverse collection of stylish brands under one roof at Paris Gallery. Fashionistas will find trendy wear at fashion labels Femi9, Annabelle and Okaidi that will bring their unique designs to the mall this year. Shoppers will also find precious jewellery at the new gold outlets, including Malabar Gold.

The mall will be unveiling affordable lifestyle brand Max Fashion and value store Daiso will bring a range of quality Japanese products from cosmetics, homeware, kitchenware, stationary and toys to meet all your household needs as part of the expansion. With the aim of providing a one-stop destination for daily services, City Centre Ajman will also house Life Pharmacy, which will provide an exhaustive selection of healthcare products to customers.

“We are excited for the new F&B and retail stores to be joining our vibrant mall and offering our customers much more variety by the end of this year,” said Fuad Mansoor Sharaf, managing director for Majid Al Futtaim Properties, Shopping Malls (UAE, Bahrain & Oman).

“With more than 150 stores and food options, we are confident that City Centre Ajman will be the lifestyle destination of choice for residents and tourists in the months to come.”

As part of the ongoing redevelopment project, City Centre Ajman has already expanded VOX Cinemas with more screens including 4DX and specially-designed children’s theatres.

The expansion will be followed by a refurbishment and redesign of the existing mall. The number of car parking spaces will increase from 1,600 to 3,200, with a shaded parking area adjacent to the mall for the convenience of shoppers.  – TradeArabia News Service
