Majid Al Futtaim completes Oman mall revamp

MUSCAT, January 12, 2017

Majid Al Futtaim, a leading retail and leisure pioneer in the region, has announced the completion of the final stage of its RO5-million ($13 million) redevelopment project work at City Centre Qurum in Oman.

A lifestyle shopping mall and community landmark welcoming close to four million visitors, City Centre Qurum boasts more than 80 stores including 14 dining outlets, totalling 23,200 sq m of retail space.

The redevelopment work, which began in April 2016, includes a 3,150-sq-m Centrepoint - the multi-brand retail concept of Landmark Group, which includes Babyshop, Splash, Lifestyle and Shoe Mart, said a statement from the mall.

These new retail outlets add to an already strong line-up of retail, restaurant and entertainment options including Carrefour Hypermarket, Vox Cinemas, H&M and Magic Planet.

City Centre Qurum now has 26,500 sq m of retail, offering more than 13 diverse dining and café options, 91 retail destinations and distinct entertainment options

The expansion also includes 177 additional car parking spaces, bringing the total number of parking spaces available to shoppers to 1,055 spaces.

“I am pleased to confirm that the redevelopment project is now complete and that we were able to deliver it in a timely and cost-effective manner,” remarked Watfa Humaid Al Harthy, the senior mall manager, City Centre Qurum.

“Centrepoint is a welcomed addition to City Centre Qurum’s comprehensive retail line-up and the latest addition is a testament to our commitment to introduce the latest retail concepts to meet the needs of our community while creating great moments for everyone, everyday,” he added.-TradeArabia News Service
