Amazon launches new Fire tablet for under $50

SEATTLE, September 18, 2015

Amazon has launched the new Fire tablet for under $50, which is also available as a six-pack.

The tablet features a quad-core processor, seven-inch IPS display, front- and rear-facing cameras, up to 128GB of expandable storage, exclusive Amazon features and services, and access to the world’s best content ecosystem, said a statement.

The customers can also choose to buy Fire as a six-pack - buy five, get one free, for less than $250, it said.

Jeff Bezos, founder and chief executive officer, Amazon.com, said: “Today, we’re taking another step in our mission to deliver premium products at non-premium prices.

“The all-new Fire features a quad-core processor, is incredibly durable, and is backed by the Amazon content ecosystem, the new Amazon Underground, and Amazon customer service with Mayday Screen Sharing. Fire sets a new bar for what customers should expect from a low cost tablet.”

The Fire delivers a world-class entertainment experience - with access to more than 38 million movies, TV shows, songs, books, apps, and games, as well as exclusive features like X-Ray, ASAP, and Second Screen.

It will be great for watching movies, playing games, reading books, listening to music, and more. With expandable storage via microSD card and features like On Deck, the customer will never running out of entertainment, whether jumping on a plane or heading out on a family road trip.

Also available for Fire are new accessories, including a protective cover available in five colours — black, blue, orange, green, and purple — that can stand in both landscape and portrait orientations, for $24.99.

The tablets will start shipping on September 30.

In addition to Fire, Amazon also unveiled the new Fire HD 8 and Fire HD 10 tablets, Fire Kids Edition tablet, and the all-new Amazon Fire TV. - TradeArabia News Service
