Samsung wins 8 awards at top design contest

Samsung Electronics has won a number of awards at the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) 2015, a leading design competition.
 
The eight accolades included one gold award, three silver award and four bronze awards, said a statement.
 
Founded in 1980 and organised by the Industrial Designers Society of America, IDEA is an influential design competitions recognising creative and innovative designs, it said.
 
Samsung’s award winners for this year encompass various categories ranging from home appliances to mobile phone accessories, such as the virtual reality headset - the Gear VR. 
 
Other winners included a dishwasher with a new water spraying mechanism, and the LED Flip Wallet. 
 
The gold award winner was the NX mini, while the silver award were won by the WaterWall Dishwasher, LED Flip Wallet, Digital Applicance Design Philosophy Framework; and the bronze awards were won by the Gear VR, Wireless Audio, Personal Cooler and Hotblast Microwave oven.
 
In addition, as many as 31 other Samsung products made it to the finalist. 
 
Boo-Keun Yoon, chief executive officer and president of Corporate Design Center, said: “Samsung will continue its effort to deliver innovative design that enhances lives, by paying close attention to our users and getting inspiration from our observations.” - TradeArabia News Service
