Ikea launches new concept store in Al Ain

ABU DHABI, August 11, 2015

Home furnishing retailer Ikea UAE, part of Al-Futtaim group of companies, has opened a new concept store in Al Ain.

Located next to Bawadi Mall, the 2,500-sq-m store functions as an extension and compliments the larger Ikea stores located in Dubai Festival City and Yas Island Abu Dhabi, according to a company statement.

Around 2,500 products will be available for viewing at the Al Ain concept store and through the catalogue with the full range of over 7,500 products available online. Purchases may be made either at the store or online and can be collected after two days with free delivery and assembly available on minimum purchases or for a small fee, the statement added.

According to John Kersten, managing director of Ikea UAE, Qatar, Egypt and Oman, the Customer Ordering and Collection point is another channel to help improve the lives of the many by bringing the Ikea brand even closer to the residents of Al Ain and surrounding areas.

“We are very excited about bringing [this] concept to the country. Historically, the UAE is an extremely dynamic market that adapts well to new formats. The model for this concept store also makes an addition to the existing Ikea list of innovative avenues we’ve launched into the market and a clear testimony to the fact that Ikea has strong faith in the UAE and aims to delight the customer for a long time to come,” he said. - TradeArabia News Service
