LuLu opens new outlet in Sohar

MANAMA, July 2, 2015

LuLu Hypermarket opened a new outlet in Sohar further boosting its retail presence in Oman.

The new hypermarket was officially inaugurated by Oman’s Industry and Commerce Ministry under-secretary Ahmed bin Hassan Al Dheeb in the presence of the company’s managing director Yusuffali M A and several high-ranking officials from various government departments and representatives from local business communities, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

Situated at a prime location of Sohar, the hypermarket is spread over three levels covering an area of about 200,000 sq ft, the new outlet is the 117th store of the LuLu Hypermarket chain.

The outlet has a fresh food section featuring fruit, vegetables, dairy products, meat, fish, and a department store selling garments, electronics, IT products and home appliances.

The Sohar Hypermarket will also soon have a food court and an entertainment area for children on level three.

The hypermarket also offers third-party tenancy for additional services like cosmetic shops, mobile phone, optical shops, money exchange, pharmacy and other convenient stores.

The new store will employ around 250 locals in senior and mid-level positions in various operations.

“Providing job opportunities to local youth is one of our core focus areas and we will continue to recruit more nationals into our operations in different categories in senior and mid-level positions,” Yusuffali said.

“The talent pool of Omani nationals and their industrious, hardworking and honest attitude have inspired us to successfully integrate several locals into our workforce, thus strengthening the backbone of our operations,” he added. - TradeArabia News Service
