Panasonic to re-launch Technics brand

DUBAI, September 4, 2014

Panasonic has announced that it will launch its audio products under the Technics brand name again, reviving its brand long synonymous with high-quality hi-fi sound.

New Technics-branded hi-fi audio systems will be released first in the European market in December 2014 and later in other parts of the world, including the Middle East.

The Technics brand was used for Panasonic’s hi-fi audio systems that were marketed around the world from 1965 to 2010. The brand name was coined from the word technology that faithfully reproduces original sounds, and symbolised Panasonic's commitment to the creation of high-quality audio.

Shinichi Wakita, managing director of Panasonic Marketing Middle East and Africa, said: “Recently, higher download speeds have made digital high-resolution sound sources with high-quality sound more practical. Accordingly they have been rapidly increasing in the market in recent years, and the conditions are now in place to be able to deliver emotionally-engaging musical experiences to the market and to consumers This new environment has made possible the revival of the Technics brand that aims to achieve the high-quality sound and music reproduction faithful to the intent of the artists.”  – TradeArabia News Service
