Lenovo enters Bahrain smartphone market with Vibe Z2

Manama, August 20, 2014

Lenovo has announced the launch of its smartphone portfolio for the first time in Bahrain.

The Vibe Z2 Pro is designed with the performance-hungry user in mind. Exhibiting a large 6-inch screen with 2K resolution, the VIBE Z2 Pro offers consumers an immersive multimedia experience. An advanced 16MP rear camera with image stabilization effortlessly captures brilliant photos and 4K videos rivalling high-end compact cameras, the company said.

At just 7.7mm thickness with a unique metallic brushed-weave design, the VIBE Z2 Pro promises stellar performance with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, it said.

VIBE Z2 Pro offers a wide range of photography features and the integrated 16MP rear camera uses a 16:9 BSI sensor that captures widescreen photos at full resolution. 4K resolution and high-speed 120fps recordings are also supported, a statement said.

Optical image stabilisation and an enhanced 6 element lens are incorporated to boost the already strong low-light shooting performance of the BSI senor. Shutterbugs will also appreciate zero shutter lag, manual shooting settings and a HDR-ready custom ‘SNAPit’ camera app, it said

The VIBE Z2 Pro, due to release in September, can be further set apart by its 6-inch display. The IPS panel not only packs 2,560 x 1,440 pixels, its 490ppi screen density is also one of the highest among existing premium smartphones, the statement said.

Lenovo’s total Bahrain portfolio will be 10 smartphones which will be distributed in Bahrain through Sands, who will also provide after sales support, it said.

Shashank Sharma, director, mobile business group at Lenovo Middle East and Africa, said: “The Middle East, GCC in particular, is a strategically important market for Lenovo’s smartphones. With the continued expansion of 4G networks in the region, and a strong push towards smart cities and connectivity, there is a natural consumer need for smartphones at all levels. Lenovo fans have been asking us to bring our products to the market, and we’re happy to finally be able to provide consumers with our flagship smartphones.” –TradeArabia News Service
