Samsung TV wins 3D quality certification

Amman, August 13, 2011

Samsung Electronics has won the “Full HD 3D tested” and “3D tested” certificates for its Smart TV from Germany-based TÜV Rheinland, one of the most trusted certification institutes in Europe.

The new certification encompasses a wide range of analyses including 2D picture quality according to VESA or ISO 2D standards, as well as contrast, crosstalk and other integral features of a high-quality 3D TV.

TVs which receive the certificates are proven as a 3D TV presenting complete 3D TV experiences, a statement said.

Both designations to ensure the full HD picture quality as well as all 3D TV qualities certified that Samsung’s Smart TVs deliver 1080p picture quality, allowing an immersive, full HD 3D viewing experience, it added.

3D TVs which meet all 3D features and full HD requirements will bear TÜV Rheinland’s “Full HD 3D tested” and “3D tested” logos. Samsung’s 46-inch D8000 LED TV was tested for these certificates.

“These certificates from such respected certification institutes such as TÜV Rheinland reaffirm Samsung’s endeavors to deliver the best full HD 3D TV experience,” said Sang Sok Roh, president of Samsung Electronics Levant.

“As the leading global TV manufacturer, we are committed to developing the best TVs to meet what consumers really want.”

Lutz Lehmann, vice president Global Sales and Marketing, TÜV Rheinland, said: “As new types of 3D and TV technology rapidly develop, certification institutes and TV manufacturers worldwide have recognized the need to ensure that consumers receive accurate and trusted information on new technology.”

“With our independent 3D tested certification and TÜV Rheinland’s global brand recognition, we are sure that the 3D TV technology will get a high consumer acceptance internationally,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
