Police officers guide two women rescued from Shining Path rebels, after arriving at a military airport in Lima on August 19. A special intelligence brigade of Peru's Armed Forces freed nine people, including three children, who were held captive by a column of the Shining Path rebels at the amazon region of Junin, Peruvian Ministry of Defence said on Tuesday.
