MUSCAT, 29 days ago

Mazoon Electricity Company, the leading electricity provider in Oman, said it has achieved a major milestone, clocking over 98 per cent in its Omanisation drive. This comes as part of its concerted efforts to develop the national workforce in the sultanate.

Continuing with its nationalisation plan as part of its primary strategy, Mazoon Electricity said it aims to fill in more than 45 vacancies with Omanis this year.

The company, which has almost 530 employees in its payroll, constantly encourages its contractors to hire Omani talents and provide them with proper training and incentives to enhance job stability, said its top official.

"We are committed to hiring and developing local talents to help achieve our vision of creating an outstanding electricity distribution and supply company," remarked Acting CEO Salim Said Al Kamyani.

"This is in line with directive of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said to support Omani human resources and enable them to contribute to the overall national development," he added.

By according priority to nationals when it comes to job opportunities, increasing skill levels and career development, Mazoon Electricity constantly provides on-job training and knowledge transfer to Omani staff.

Muntasar Abdullah Ambusaidi, the senior HR manager, said: "This achievement reflects our HR strategy to develop and cultivate Omani human resources. While we are focused on Omanisation, we want to increase skills through comprehensive staff training and management development programmes."

"We offer an appealing working environment for employees to stay and grow within the company while continuing their career development. We are proud that our employees enjoy an inspiring environment which fosters learning and development," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
