MUSCAT, January 16, 2019

Work is progressing at a steady pace on the sewage water treatment project being developed by Oman Wastewater Services Company (Haya Water) in Darsait area of the sultanate with the operation phase likely to begin in the third quarter, reported Oman News Agency, citing its top official.

Once the project gets completed in July, the plant will boast a capacity of 37,000 cu m per day, remarked Haya Water’s CEO Engineer Hussain bin Hassan AbdullHussain.

He was speaking to the media during a site visit made by the company’s leadership team to monitor the ongoing plant project and the Company’s existing assets in the area.

"The construction of a new STP in Darsait comes in line with the rapid development of the population, as the plant is designed with the latest technologies to treat sewage and control odour," stated AbdullHussain.

"After the operation of the sewage treatment plant, we will also link the residential, commercial and governmental buildings in the areas in Wadi Kabir, Ruwi and other areas that belong to the wilayat of Muttrah to the new plant," he added.
