Iran's power exports exceed imports: official

TEHRAN, December 24, 2017

Iran’s annual power exports are three times more than its imports standing about nine billion kilowatts, a senior official at the country’s power export affairs was quoted as saying in a media report.

Iran exports electricity to Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq and Turkey and has seasonal energy swap with Armenia and Turkmenistan, Arash Kourdi, director general of Iran's Power Generation Transmission and Distribution Management Company (Tavanir) was quoted in an Irna report.

The official added that Iran can also play an active role in transit of electricity.
