Serica Energy eyes Iran’s oil, gas sectors

TEHRAN, December 21, 2017

UK-based oil and gas company Serica Energy will seek more trade cooperation with Iran after the successful venture of the North Sea Rhum gas field owned by Iran, its CEO was quoted as saying in a media report.

“The JCPOA has removed all EU sanctions against Iran and, accordingly, we are free to have more interaction with the country, which makes us happy,” Tony Walker was quoted by Iran Daily, which cited Mehr News Agency.

The development of the $565-million Rhum gas field was shared equally by London-based BP and the Iranian Oil Company, a subsidiary of the state-owned National Iranian Oil Company. BP sold three fields to North Sea producer Serica Energy, the report said.
