SIS inks partnership deal with Borr Drilling

LONDON, July 11, 2017

Star Information Systems (SIS) said it has signed a deal with Borr Drilling, a leading contractor catering to the oil and gas industry across the globe, to implement software for management systems on board and onshore.

The industry is currently under significant stress, and Borr Drilling aims to establish a platform to help players capitalise on the challenging market situation.

A major player in the region, Borr Drilling is looking to acquire and operate modern drilling assets.

Combining record low asset prices with a capable operating organisation will allow Borr to take advantage of opportunities in a rapidly changing oil and gas industry, according to SIS.

Using its fleet of shallow water rigs, Borr can deliver safe and high quality drilling operations to their customers it stated.

Borr Drilling said it is currently building an organisation to support operations of its current and incoming drilling rigs. SIS will provide supporting management systems and procedures to its drilling operations.

SIS project manager Per Anders Koien pointed out that the deployment and setting up of data structure for complex rig operations on the first pilot rig has been completed in record time.

"Deployment work was finished before summer holidays. The SIS team has put in a fantastic effort over the last month," he stated.

"The potential scope of the project represents a great opportunity for SIS to enhance its services and software. We are confident that together with Borr Drilling, we will deliver on all parties’ expectations," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
