Evonik unveils novel energy solutions at Iran expo

Evonik, a leading German speciality chemicals company, is showcasing its key solutions for the three energy markets of upstream, midstream and downstream at the 22nd Iran International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemicals Exhibition which opened today (May 6).
The event, which runs till May 9 at the Tehran International Permanent Fairground, is expected to gather 2,000 companies from 35 countries covering all areas relevant to the energy industry, said the organisers.
Evonik is set to introduce key solutions including corrosion inhibitors, additives for drilling and gas processing chemistries besides a one-key solution used for gas pipes, liners and steel pipes called Vestamid NRG polyamide 12 (PA 12).
Sassan Pakdel, the business sales manager for high performance polymers at Evonik Iran, said the German group has been present in the country for the last 48 years and considers it a key growth market especially in the energy sector where it has 11 per cent of oil and 18 per cent of gas reserves of the world.
"Participating in this exhibition shows our commitment as a company to developing and supporting the Iranian energy sector through the various technologies that we offer," remarked Pakdel.
Vestamid NRG offers outstanding properties suitable for high-pressure gas pipelines that enables gas utilities to effectively build-up their subterranean pipeline networks without any concern about losses in throughput performance.
According to him, the product line also combines the established liner technology and the custom-tailored products from Evonik that can be an alternative to corrosion resistant alloy pipes.
Unlike corrosion resistant alloy pipes currently used for hydrocarbon transportation and carbon steel pipes, Vestamid NRG protects against internal corrosion and offers an enormous weight and price advantage, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
