Austin .... eyeing big Saudi expansion.

McDermott names Saudi general manager

RIYADH, January 18, 2017

McDermott Arabia, a leading engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contractor, has appointed Dustin Whiteley as the general manager for its Saudi Arabia business.  
 
Dustin, who holds a degree in structural engineering from New Mexico State University, has over 25 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry.

He joins McDermott from Halliburton, where he worked in several senior roles across the globe including US, Indonesia, UK, Thailand and most recently as country manager for Saudi Arabia.

Linh Austin, VP and general manager, Middle East and Caspian area, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Dustin to McDermott. His extensive experience in business development, projects and operations combined with his in-depth knowledge of the local market will be invaluable as we continue to focus on and grow our business in Saudi Arabia.”

McDermott has extensive experience offshore Saudi Arabia, having worked in the region for over 50 years.

In 2015, the company won a lumpsum contract from Saudi Aramco for brownfield work which was the largest single award for McDermott’s Middle East Area operations in company history.

More recently the firm landed an EPCI contract for four jackets and three gas observation platforms, the third fast-track project they have been awarded by Saudi Aramco in the past 18 months.

On his new role, Dustin said: "I am very excited to be joining McDermott. Its reputation for safety and quality is second to none and it is an exciting time for the business as they continue to grow in the region."
