Japan imported 23m barrels of UAE crude in Nov

Japan's oil imports from the UAE totalled 23.12 million barrels of crude in November 2016, according to data released by the Agency of Energy and Natural Resource in Tokyo.

This accounted for 24.5 percent of Japan's total crude imports for the period, the agency, part of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, was quoted as saying by a Wam report.

Saudi Arabia provided 36.961 million barrels, or 39.2 percent of the total, while Iran, Qatar, Russia and Kuwait, provided 7.6 percent, 7.5 percent, 5.3 percent and 5.2 percent, respectively.

The agency noted that imports from Iran have been increasing steadily, and that the first Algerian crude in a long time was imported in November.

Japan’s total crude oil imports in November amounted to 94.197 million barrels, the agency said.
