Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), a leading district cooling services provider, highlighted the concept of smart energy and shared its case study toward success at the recently concluded first session of the Dubai Hamburg Business Forum, hosted by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Ahmad Bin Shafar, chief executive officer of Empower shared the company's practices in district cooling, bringing on the table proved sustainable solutions that achieve high savings in the energy sector in Dubai.

Organised under the theme, 'Internet of Things: Innovation to Connect,' in co-operation with the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, the session offered ample scope for establishing joint ventures in four important sectors between  the business communities in Dubai and Hamburg.

Empower’s participation in the first session, was followed by three other sessions about public sector solutions for smart urban living, smart logistics, and smart health, which explored how existing applications in this field can be enhanced further.

“Clean energy production is a priority for decision-makers across the world. Dubai, guided by the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has set ambitious targets to ensure its energy supply in the future," said Bin Shafar.

"At Empower, we took the responsibility to develop one of the most essential services in this region, which is district cooling, to the highest sustainability levels, with least harm to the environment,” he said.

“It took us years of innovation to achieve tangible savings on energy, while ensuring available round the clock services. Investing in innovative technologies is extremely crucial,” said Bin Shafar.

“Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030 has raised the targeted renewable energy mix in Dubai from one per cent to seven per cent by 2020 and from five per cent to 25 per cent by 2030, which is a pioneering achievement that positions the Emirate as a pioneer inthe renewable and clean energy sector,” he added. - TradeArabia News Service
