Iran says didn't receive request for Opec meet
DUBAI, January 13, 2016
Iran did not receive any request for an Opec emergency meeting, Shana news agency reported on Wednesday, citing Iranian oil minister Bijan Zanganeh.
The minister's comments come a day after Nigeria oil minister said that a "couple" of members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (Opec) have requested an emergency meeting, adding current market conditions create the need to hold such a gathering.
Shana, the oil ministry's news agency, quoted Zanganeh as saying a consensus is required to hold an emergency meeting for Opec members, otherwise there would be no meeting.
Opec is scheduled to meet next in June to decide on its output policy. --Reuters
