Electricity sector challenges to be probed at Bahrain forum

MANAMA, October 30, 2014

The challenges facing the electricity sector will be reviewed at a key conference next month in Bahrain.

The Gulf Electricity Conference and Exhibition 2014 will be held between November 10 and 12 at the Gulf Hotel under the patronage of Minister of State for Electricity and Water Affairs Dr Abdulhussain Mirza, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

It is organised by the GCC Regional Committee for Large Electric Systems.

The three-day conference aims at giving participants the opportunity to learn more about the latest developments in the electricity and energy industry, in addition to providing exhibitors with access to the most profitable deals.

The conference will also highlight the challenges facing the power sector in the region, gathering around 350 experts and those concerned with the power sector to develop business relations and exchange experiences.

Delegates will have the opportunity to discuss the latest trends and strategies to meet the region's rapidly expanding energy needs through a series of panel and technical sessions.

Dr Mirza received the conference's high committee chairman Shaikh Nawaf bin Ebrahim bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who briefed him on the event.

“This conference will be a great opportunity to exchange ideas and select what really suits each country in terms of power initiatives and applications,” Dr Mirza said.

“Thanks to many high calibre scientific experts and innovative minds from the power sector, who will take part, all participants will benefit.”

The event's communications partner has been named as AB Communications. - TradeArabia News Service
