Abu Dhabi set for big power, water shows

ABU DHABI, October 11, 2014

Power-Gen Middle East, a major event for the power generation, transmission and distribution industry, will kick off tomorrow (October 12) along with WaterWorld Middle East (WWME) conferences and exhibition in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Suhail Mohammed bin Faraj Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of Energy, will officially open these events at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec).

It will then be followed by keynote addresses from Yury Sentyurin, the state secretary, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, Dr Hisham Khatib, the honorary vice chairman, World Energy Council, Jordan, and former Jordanian cabinet minister and Alan Thomson, the managing director of the event partner for WWME, Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Company.

“As a leader in power and water sustainability, Abu Dhabi is the ideal host for dialogue around enhancing the stability of resources vital to the region’s economy,” said Nigel Blackaby, the event director of PGME.

"We are confident that all delegates will greatly benefit from the calibre of presenters and their respective technical expertise and will be exposed to the best technology in the marketplace," he added.

The 12th annual Power-Gen Middle East provides the platform for the international power community to meet and receive vital information first hand.

The event offers a unique forum to meet the region’s power needs by putting them face-to-face with key decision makers and providing the best possible opportunity to share ideas, meet new contacts and build business relationships.

For the third time, WaterWorld Middle East will be co-located with Power-Gen Middle East, establishing itself as an important regional event dedicated to strategic and technical issues in the water and wastewater industry, stated Blackaby.

Both Power-Gen Middle East and WaterWorld Middle East are owned and managed by PennWell Corporation, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
