Libya pays salaries at Hariga, port still closed

Tripoli, June 4, 2014

Libya's government has transferred the salaries of protesting guards at Hariga oil port but the export terminal is still closed, a state oil firm said on Wednesday.

"The ministry of finance has deposited the delayed salaries for the (Petroleum Facilities Guards) PFG's accounts through (National Oil Corp) NOC," said Omar Al-Zwie, spokesman for state-oil firm AGOCO which owns the port.

"We will wait until tomorrow to see what will happen from the PFG side," he said. -Reuters
