Kuwait to partially shut Mina refinery in Q2

Kuwait plans to shut parts of its 270,000 barrels per day Mina Abdullah refinery from April to May for scheduled maintenance, two Kuwait-based industry sources said.

The vaccum unit, the coker unit, the naphtha unit and the kerosene unit will be down from mid-April to mid-May, one of the sources said. He added other units that include the ARDS unit, hydrogen unit and sulphur unit will also be down from the second week of May until mid-June.

Kuwait National Petroleum Co. (KNPC) operates the OPEC member's three refineries with a combined capacity to process 930,000 barrels a day.

Opec member Kuwait is one of the top five oil exporters in the world and the majority of its exports is shipped to Asia.-Reuters
