Kuwait crude output near full capacity
Kuwait, January 31, 2012
Core Opec Gulf member Kuwait is producing near its full capacity and would find it difficult to increase production or honour requests for additional crude, Kuwait Petroleum Corp chief executive Farouk Al-Zanki said on Tuesday.
Al-Zanki said Kuwait was now producing about 2.9 million barrels per day (MBPD) versus full capacity of 3 MBPD including Kuwait's portion of the neutral zone which it shares with Saudi Arabia.
Asked what would happen if customers requested additional crude supply, Al-Zanki said: "It would be difficult to do that on a sustainable basis, we will remain where we are." - Reuters
