Rasgas delivers spot LNG cargo to Turkey

Doha, November 27, 2011

Qatar's Rasgas delivered a spot cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Turkey's Aliaga Terminal via the private energy firm EgeGaz, Rasgas said in an emailed statement received on Sunday.

While deliveries of LNG from Rasgas to EgeGaz began in 2009, the shipment is the first cargo delivered to EgeGaz using the smaller Q-Flex tanker, the statement said.

The Rasgas LNG fleet currently contains 27 vessels, including one Q-Max tanker with a cargo-carrying capacity of 266,000 cubic meters and 12 Q-Flex tankers that have a capacity of between 210,000 and 217,000 cu m, it said.

Qatar is the world's leading exporter of LNG exporter, with an annual production capacity of 77 million tonnes. - Reuters
