All Qatargas trains running at full capacity

Doha, April 3, 2011

All seven Qatargas liquefied natural gas (LNG) production trains have reached 100 percent production capacity, the company said in a statement.

Qatargas, one of two state-owned LNG producers, is currently running at full production capacity of 42 millon tonnes per annum (mtpa), said the statement issued late on Saturday.

'This is a new era for Qatargas as we now become a fully operational company and all the expansion projects have now been handed over to the Qatargas Operating Company from the project teams,' said Qatargas CEO Khalid Bin Khalifa Al Thani.

Qatargas and Royal Dutch Shell sent the first cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from their new train seven plant to India in February.

Qatar is the world's largest exporter of LNG. - Reuters
