Madinah implementing key transport infrastructure projects

Madinah Municipality and Madinah Region Development Authority are implementing several key projects and initiatives to enhance the quality of community life, improving mobility experiences for the benefit of citizens, visitors and tourists alike, reported SPA.
The Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project is the latest authority project relating to transit services and improving people's travel experience to and from different areas.
The project includes 22 stations to facilitate transit between sites, including stations at the Prophet's Mosque station, the Haramain Express train station, the Knowledge Economic City station and the Rua Al Madinah project station.
The BRT project will involve the construction of main lanes covering a length of 52 km, with a capacity of 1,800 passengers per hour, said the SPA report.
The private sector is also participating in a project to provide self-service bike rental services, promote exercise, provide accessible transit solutions, and reduce traffic in congested areas, it added.
