UAE Transport Authority partners with top Irish institute

ABU DHABI, September 22, 2018

The UAE Federal Transport Authority-Land and Maritime (FTA) has signed an agreement with Ireland-based Cork Institute of Technology (CIT).
 
The MoU aims to implement collaborative programmes and projects between both sides in the areas of research, education, training, technology transfer, information and economic development, said Hessa Al Malek, the executive director of the FTA, after signing the deal with Cormac Gebruers, the head of the CIT.
 
The signing ceremony was attended by Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Infrastructure Development and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the FTA.
 
The MoU is aimed at launching applied research programmes and activities between both parties and benefit from them.
 
Gebruers expressed his appreciation for the FTA’s commitment and cooperation and its positive and active role in facilitating maritime cooperation between the UAE and Ireland.
 
Dr Al Nuaimi and Gebruers discussed the developments in the maritime transportation sector and exchanged their opinions, said the statement.
 
The duo also discussed issues of mutual interest, such as developing the relations between the FTA and the Irish companies and adopting joint initiatives, through establishing the future partnership and cooperation agreements with Irish universities and institutes that specialise in maritime transportation, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
