3-door Patrol Super Safari returns to Nissan line-up

DUBAI, July 12, 2017

Following the success of the relaunched Patrol Super Safari 5-door earlier this year, Nissan is reintroducing the three-door version of the Patrol Super Safari – also known as the Hard Top version.

“When we relaunched the Patrol Super Safari station wagon in March it was as a response to the demands of our customers who had both a deep sense of nostalgia for the vehicle and a genuine appetite to see its return,” explained Fadi Ghosn, chief marketing officer of Nissan Middle East.

“We quickly realised after the relaunch, however, that there was equally an appetite to see the return of the 3-door variant. As a company, we pride ourselves on our track record of listening and responding to our customers’ feedback.  The relaunch of the 3-door Patrol Super Safari is yet another example of that customer focus.”

Like its larger sibling, the 3-door Patrol Super Safari is packed with features designed with comfort, practicality, style, and desert performance in mind, the company said.

From a visual perspective, it’s hard to ignore the impressive machine cut, black 17” wheels framed by grey over fenders or the eye-catching red Super Safari graphics which adorn the vehicle’s flanks. There are two colour choices for the body, two-tone combinations of either grey and white or grey and gold, while inside an attractive tan interior is equally the sole option.

In engine terms, again there is only one choice in the form of Nissan’s proven 4.8L 6 inline cylinder DOHC unit which produces 280 HP and 451 Nm of torque. This gives a superb combination of serious power and massive torque for off-road applications for while returning reasonable fuel economy under normal road driving conditions. The engine is mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission with manual mode. Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) significantly enhance safety while driving on the highway over long distances at higher speeds.

New driver aids include a navigation system as well as front and rear parking sensors with rear view camera, Bluetooth, USB, CD, auxiliary input socket and FM/AM radio to complete the in-car entertainment offering. The vehicle comes equipped with automatic climate control and a built-in, refrigerated cool box.

Dual front airbags, ABS, an immobilizer and cruise control are among the other features contributing to both safety and driver convenience, while the vehicle boasts rear locking differentials, front and rear tow hooks as standard equipment for desert use with an electric front winch available as an option.

Essentially, all of the classic on- and off-road driving capabilities and characteristics so beloved of generations of Gulf drivers have been retained in the relaunched Patrol Super Safari 3-door, while comfort, style and safety have been enhanced to create one of the most desirable and practical vehicles available in the region today, the company said. – TradeArabia News Service
