Al Futtaim auto park ... to be operational in 2017.

Al-Futtaim to build giant auto park in Dubai

DUBAI, September 21, 2015

UAE-based conglomerate Al-Futtaim Group has announced plans to develop one of the region's largest automobile parks in Dubai, UAE.

The new facility being set up by Al-Futtaim Automotive Division, the exclusive distributor of leading car brands in the UAE, will come up at Dubai Investments Park (DIP), a one-of-its-kind integrated commercial, industrial and residential community in the Middle East.

The project will be completed in two phases and the concept designs have already been finalised, said the company in its statement.

The hitech auto park, to be operational in 2017, will showcase top car brands distributed by Al-Futtaim, including Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge.

The multi-level showroom complex will also include Al-Futtaim’s ALAC business, comprising tyres, batteries, workshop equipment & body shop divisions and the facility will be able to accommodate over 1,400 vehicles for sale, service and stock inventory, it added.

The multi-level showroom complex, which will span a total area of 34,466 sq m, will be among one of the largest automobile parks in the region.

Once ready, the auto park will offer a wide array of services including sales, service, repairs, car hire and spare parts sales, among others.

Omar Al Mesmar, the general manager of DIP, said it is fast emerging as the preferred automobile hub in Dubai, with leading car brands and companies opening showrooms within the development.

"DIP is proud of its automobile portfolio, and the new Al-Futtaim Auto Park will further redefine the vehicle purchase and maintenance experience within the development, and cater to the discerning needs of our customers. The wide array of automobile retail outlets within DIP is part of its commitment to offer a multifaceted brand experience to our customers," he added.

With this new auto park, DIP will serve as a new sales and service channel for leading car brands amidst surging volumes and growth in demand expected in the auto market in the coming years, stated Al Mesmar.

Len Hunt, the president of Al-Futtaim Automotive Division, said: "We are on the threshold of aggressive expansion in the UAE and the auto park in Dubai Investments Park is designed to meet the growing demands of customers in DIP, and neighbouring communities."

"DIP is expected to witness exponential growth due to its strategic proximity to Al Maktoum International Airport and the Expo 2020 site, which will translate into surging growth in its industrial and residential offerings and the cascading demand for quality commercial and passenger vehicles," he remarked.

"Our strategic market research revealed a huge latent potential for an auto oark in DIP, which will provide added customer convenience and access in the area," he said.

Al-Futtaim Motors, stated Hunt, already operates a massive parts distribution centre within DIP to meet the growing demand for automotive parts and accessories in the region.

"The company’s facility, one of the biggest Toyota parts distribution centres in the world, consists of two warehouses plus ancillary buildings," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
