Western Auto unveils new King Long school buses in UAE

DUBAI, April 28, 2015

Western Auto, the sole distributor of King Long’s luxury coaches in the UAE, has unveiled a 37-seater and 63-seater school buses which are powered by Cummins Engine.

The XMQ 6858 (37-seater) and XMQ 6101Y (63-seater) buses will come packed with eight cameras to enhance safety, said a statement.

AJ Kamal, chief executive of Western Auto, said: “We are pleased to introduce our school bus series to the UAE market which has strict government policy on school children’s safety. Schools are aware of the potential liabilities with respect to commuting services provided to students as they must ensure that private companies comply with the law.

“Government bodies have issued guidelines regarding safe commute for school children. Our buses are tailor made for such schools in the UAE. Delivering school buses to meet the stringent safety norms of the region, we are second to none when it comes to providing quality and premium buses to transport school children in the UAE and globally.”

King Long buses are fully equipped with salient safety features, most prominent among them being the monitor recording system with four internal and four external cameras.

The other features include a safety governor which limits the speed of the bus to 80 kilometers, flashing light, first aid kit, sleep button in the rear, safety seat belts , stop arm and PA system to name a few.

There are safety hammers provided for all windows apart from an emergency window. For added safety, the engine compartment has an auto fire extinguisher. Western Auto has state-of-the-art service centers for King Long buses in the UAE.

As part of this school bus launch, Western Auto has initiated a campaign that has received interest from the parents and children, apart from school management.

The campaign aims to bring about a change in the notion that school buses could be unsafe and cannot be relied upon. The convenience and benefits of using the school transport are many; however some parents seem to prefer private vehicles over school buses, apparent through traffic congestion during school days.

The campaign also includes a website www.ilovemyschoolbus.com which will be an interactive site engaging students with information on school bus safety and a lot more - including fun facts, blogs and paintings. - TradeArabia News Service
