Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrids ... now part of Dubai police force

Dubai police adds Porsche hybrids to patrol fleet

DUBAI, April 12, 2015

Dubai Police has added three-new Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrids to its fleet of luxury patrol cars.

In an official handover at Dubai Police Headquarters, major general Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, commander-in-chief of Dubai Police, was joined by K Rajaram, chief executive officer of Al Nabooda Automobiles, the official Porsche importer and distributor in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

The delivery of the new hybrid vehicles comes just days after the Dubai government announced it was looking at ways to promote eco-friendly vehicles and is considering incentives for electric models, said a statement.

Porsche is among the top automobile manufacturers at the forefront of electronic mobility in the performance and luxury class, and the Panamera S E-Hybrid is a good example of how Porsche offers hybrid models as authentic sports cars, resulting in extra performance and efficiency.

The vehicles possesses 416 hp, acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and a top speed of 270 km/h, further added a statement.

Major general Al Mazeina said: “The Panamera S E-Hybrid is joining our world class fleet of luxury patrol cars. We are especially pleased to welcome this powerful and innovative car to our task force as it is environmentally friendly.”

“There is no other hybrid vehicle like it and we thank our partners at Al Nabooda Automobiles for their support,” he said.

The Panamera S E-Hybrid, a parallel plug-in hybrid model, provides a total concept that networks the car and its driver in an intelligent way. It can drive considerable distances in all-electric mode, with a range of up to 36 km and an electric driving top speed of 135 km/h. In the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC), the Panamera S E-Hybrid consumes 3.1 l/100 km, which equates to 71 g/km CO2 emissions.

Meanwhile, Bernhard Maier, member of the executive board sales and marketing of Porsche AG, visited the new Dh144 million ($39.2 million) Porsche Centre Dubai on Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai, UAE, recently.

The visit was hosted by K Rajaram, CEO of Al Nabooda Automobiles, the official Porsche importer and distributor in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, and Maier toured the new 5,318 sq m facility which was officially inaugurated earlier this year, said a statement.

Maier said: “The new Porsche Centre Dubai is very impressive when you see it first-hand. It is a testament to the Porsche brand in the Middle East and represents one of the flagship showrooms in the world.”

The state-of-the-art dealership displays 49 Porsche cars across three levels and features a Porsche exclusive flagship dealer fitting lounge, Porsche driver’s selection boutique store, the new Porsche digitalisation concept, a classic corner, tequipment corner and a Porsche racing simulator, it further stated.

The adjoining Service Centre has 14 work bays and three new Dialog bays, it added. – TradeArabia News Service
