Al-Futtaim Motors ..... organise Toyota’s Dream Car Art Contest.

Al-Futtaim Motors’ art contest receives over 1,000 entries

DUBAI, January 29, 2015

Over 1,000 children from the UAE have participated in the Toyota’s Dream Car Art Contest, organised by Al-Futtaim Motors, exclusive distributor of Toyota in the UAE.

The contest is designed to inspire creativity in youth and encourage interest in making the world a better place, and is held in collaboration with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), said a company statement.

Open to children aged 5 to 15 years, the contest kicked off on December 1, 2014, and will carry through until January 31, 2015, where the final contest will be held at the Toyota Abu Dhabi Airport Road showroom.

Jon Williams, managing director, Al-Futtaim Motors, said: “We have seen great participation from Dubai-based schools and children across the UAE and we highly encourage those living in Abu Dhabi and the Western Region to take part in the contest next weekend.”

“What we have noticed through the first batch of entries is that children are increasingly aware of issues surrounding their everyday lives, such as traffic on the roads, environmental issues, noise pollution and world developments, even going as far as to think about the future of automobiles with self-driving vehicles. The entries were truly inspiring and we have a great base of future artists” he added.

The Toyota Abu Dhabi Airport Road showroom will have a special corner set for participants to express their creativity, fully equipped with the necessary art material and will be managed by a team of art tutors to guide and help the children materialise their ideas.

Children who submit their artwork for the Toyota Dream Car Art Contest will have their submissions judged by a local jury.

Thirty local finalists will get the chance to participate in a local art exhibition, while a further nine winners will receive grand prizes and the opportunity to enter the global contest.

Selected award winners in the global contest and their parents or guardians will be invited on a trip to Japan to participate in an awards ceremony in August 2015 during which, four global finalist awards will be announced per age category: Finalist, Best Finalist, Bronze, Silver, Gold and President Akio Toyoda Special Award, said the company.

Last year, over 660,000 youth, ages 4-15 from 78 countries submitted their creative artworks to the Toyota Dream Car Art Contest worldwide. Of these, over 600 entries were submitted to Japan for consideration in the world contest, it added. – TradeArabia News Service
