Honda recalls 3,469 vehicles in UAE

Dubai, July 26, 2014

Japanese automaker Honda plans to recall 3,469 vehicles in the UAE to fix a passenger-side airbag problem, a report said.

The recall includes its popular Civic and Accord brands, said the Emirates 24|7 report.

The recall, announced by Honda and  its UAE distributor Trading Enterprises, covers 2002 and 2003 models.

The company said the passenger-side's airbag inflator could produce excessive internal pressure and if an affected airbag deploys, the increased internal pressure may cause the inflator to rupture. In the event of rupture, metal fragments could be propelled upward towards the windshield or downward toward the front passenger's foot, resulting in injury to the passenger, it said.
