3M Gulf to showcase at Gulf Traffic

Abu Dhabi, November 19, 2012

3M Gulf, a leader in R&D, will present its range of road safety solutions for complete traffic sign installation and program upgrades at the ongoing Gulf Traffic 2012, a top event for traffic, transport and road safety industries.

Gulf Traffic is running at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre until November 21.

The 3M Traffic Safety Systems division will demonstrate Roadway Maintenance Services’ value-added services including data management, sign identification and inventory, along with GIS mapping systems, utilizing Internet-based approach that does not require expensive software systems.

Timothy M O’Leary, global business development manager, 3M Motor Vehicle Safety Systems Division said, “The traffic management systems have undergone major upgrades with the advent of technology and the fast evolving priorities of Government entities and safety regulators.”

“Our key objective of participating at Gulf Traffic is to showcase 3M’s latest innovations from Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), road safety and toll management that can effectively support the strategic safety and traffic management authorities in the UAE and wider Middle East.”

Fadi Petro, business development manager of 3M Traffic Safety Systems Division for Middle East and Africa added, "Road safety is a critical challenge faced by road users and authorities. For over 60 years, 3M has pioneered the development of road safety technology and traffic management solutions to ensure safe, orderly and efficient movement of all road users and vehicles.”

3M announced recently that it has completed its acquisition of the business of Federal Signal Technologies Group (FSTech) from Federal Signal Corp. FSTech focuses on electronic toll collection and parking management hardware and software services.

Electronic tolling and parking are key adjacencies to 3M’s business for motor vehicle systems and services. FSTech complements 3M’s products and services for the Department of Transportation, the Department of Motor Vehicles, toll authorities, public safety agencies and parking operators. The integration of FSTech into 3M will enable the next generation of innovative toll, public safety and parking solutions.

By combining 3M and FSTech products 3M can create leading solutions for the parking, toll, and public safety industry to help improve the safety, mobility and efficiency of road users, according to a statement. – TradeArabia News Service
