Renault Laguna Coupe sets new standards

Abu Dhabi, December 19, 2008

The Renault Laguna coupé will set new standards in the sports convertible market, according to managing director of Renault GCC Mohamed Bennani.

The car was unveiled at the Abu Dhabi International Motor Show, according to a company official.

Making its GCC premiere, the striking white top-of-the-range grand tourer coupé was unveiled alongside three brand new models also being introduced in the region - Renault Symbol (spacious sedan popularly known as Clio), Mégane Exception (top of the range Megane series coupe) and Logan (economical compact sedan) - which are available across dealers in the UAE.

“The Laguna coupé is an exceptional vehicle that has won admiration from motor sports enthusiasts worldwide and I have often been asked when this coupé will be brought here. The Laguna coupe is a true manifestation of Renault’s core values of sport, fun and safety and once this roadster hits the city’s streets in mid 2009, I am confident that it will evoke a sense of pride among its owners,” added Bennani.

Other models on display at the Renault stand, located in Hall 11A, include the recently launched Safrane which has received an overwhelming response across the region; popular hot hatch Clio Renault Sport, Renault’s striking F1 show car and the French manufacturer’s first 4x4 - Koleos, which will be launched in early 2009.

“Renault now has a firm position in the automotive market with options for the buyer in almost every segment. We intend to continue our strategy to expand our network across the GCC and will continue to launch new models, despite the global economic downturn,” added Bennani.

Bennani pointed out that Renault was planning new showrooms in Al Ain and Musaffah in Abu Dhabi with the support of local dealers Al Masaood Automobiles while a new showroom in Deira, Dubai with importer Arabian Automobiles is expected to open its doors soon.

In addition, all Renault models sold across the Gulf benefit from a comprehensive customer care programme called ‘Customer First’. The programme has been designed to provide buyers with 11 essential complimentary services both before and following the purchase of any Renault vehicle, including a three-year or 100,000 kms worldwide car warranty. – TradeArabia News Service
