UAE top GCC performer in global talent competitiveness list

DAVOS, January 22, 2018

UAE emerged as the top country in the Middle East in terms of talent competitiveness, according to the 2018 Global Talent Competitiveness Index (GTCI) report, which measures how countries and cities grow, attract and retain talent.

The report, published by Insead, the Business School for the World, in partnership with the Adecco Group and Tata Communications, is a comprehensive annual benchmarking that provides a unique resource for decision makers to understand the global talent competitiveness picture and develop strategies for boosting their competitiveness.

The UAE was ranked 17th on the global list with a talent competitiveness score of 68.88, followed by Qatar in 23rd place with a score of 61.90.

Switzerland still leads the way in terms of talent competitiveness, followed by Singapore and the US.

The GTCI looked at 68 different variables in determining a country’s 'talent competitiveness', ranging from collaboration within organisations and foreign direct investment to the gender pay gap, labour productivity and university rankings.

The report suggests that by creating a truly diverse and inclusive corporate culture companies can gain a competitive advantage that will enable them to not just better attract and retain talent, but also create a high performing workforce. - TradeArabia News Service
