Restrata appoints new VP to head technology division

DUBAI, April 11, 2017

Restrata, a global leader in safety and security consultancy and training services, has appointed David Nicholls as vice president of situational awareness and telematics to head up the firm’s technology division in Dubai.

A former Infantry Captain with the British Army, Nicholls brings a wealth of local experience having worked in some of the eastern hemisphere’s most challenging emerging markets for leading public and private sector organisations, the company said.

In his previous role as head of sales and marketing for MiX Telematics in Dubai, he helped diversify the business away from its core oil and gas market and into new sectors such as the supply chain segment.  He also helped to grow the organisation’s international footprint, establishing business links across the MENA region, Central Asia and the Indian subcontinent.

Nicholls has spent his professional career, since the UK Armed Forces, at the cutting edge of technology innovation through business development positions at Track24 and the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory in the UK.

Nicholls will lead a diverse and experienced team of sales, channel management and technical industry experts delivering bespoke products and services that will provide a reliable connection between people, property and equipment in some of the world’s most complex and hostile markets. This includes 24/7 global tracking, incident response and fleet optimisation technologies.

Botan Osman, managing director of Restrata, said: “I am thrilled to welcome David on board. His technical know-how, coupled with his extensive track record in strategic deal making and business development makes him a valuable addition to the team.

“With technology constantly evolving, it’s vital that we stay one step ahead of the game to ensure we are bringing the most advanced, cost-effective and reliable products and tools to our clients, no matter where they are in the world."

Serving a geographically diverse client base from its UAE Headquarters and regional offices, Restrata provides a range of safety and security services to establish the necessary security and crisis management arrangements to build resilience within organisations, including consultancy, auditing and risk assessments, situational awareness and tracking, training and workforce development, response services in crisis and continuity management, fire and rescue services, safe journey management, and HSE management.  - TradeArabia News Service
