Meat prices ‘are set to stabilise’ in Bahrain

MANAMA, October 20, 2015

Meat prices are expected to drop after initially soaring following the lifting of government subsidies in Bahrain, it has been claimed. Bahrain’s biggest supplier of livestock, the Bahrain Livestock Company (BLC), has already reduced prices for butchers from BD2.800 ($7.3) to BD2.200 per kilo, Information, Parliament and Shura Council Affairs Minister Isa Al Hammadi said in a press conference after the weekly Cabinet session yesterday, reported the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
