Bahrain police out in force during Eid holiday
MANAMA, July 17, 2015
More traffic police will be deployed as Bahrain gears up for the Eid Al Fitr holiday.
Police will be out in force to ensure the smooth flow of vehicles across the kingdom, said Traffic Deputy Director-General Brigadier-General Mohammed Rashid Al Nuaimi.
Patrols will be stepped up to monitor key arteries and traffic-congested junctions, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
He urged motorists and road-users to comply with traffic regulations and respect speed limits in residential zones to protect lives and property.
He called on drivers to avoid using mobiles and texting, fasten seat-belts and ensure children are properly seated in the back for their safety.
Brig-Gen Al Nuaimi said that Bahrain is bracing for a massive flow of cars via King Fahad Causeway as GCC nations and residents plan to flock to the kingdom to spend the Eid holiday.
He also urged caution to ensure an accident-free holiday.
Northern Governor Ali Al Asfoor said 94 volunteers will be deployed at 18 mosques across the kingdom as part of efforts to protect places of worship during Eid and Friday prayers. - TradeArabia News Service
