Car crashes through Bahrain restaurant window

MANAMA, May 8, 2015

A car ploughed through the front window of a restaurant in Manama, Bahrain.

Iskenderun Grills Restaurant, in Hoora, was closed when an Indian motorist drove his car through the glass window yesterday (May 7) morning, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

The 55-year-old driver suffered minor injuries and had to be taken to Salmaniya Medical Complex by ambulance.

He was trying to overtake on Tarafa Bin Alabd Avenue, off Exhibition Avenue, when he lost control and crashed through the restaurant window, according to an Interior Ministry official.

A restaurant employee told the GDN the accident caused considerable damage, but the restaurant opened for business as usual.

"It happened before work time so no one was in the shop and thank God no one was injured," he said.

"The whole front window was smashed and there was damage to tables, chairs and our chiller.

"We will try to get the window fixed and the chiller repaired, but we will not close because of this." - TradeArabia News Service
