Fatburger targets 25 outlets in Mena expansion

DUBAI, February 18, 2015

Fatburger, a multinational burger chain, has announced that it will be launching more restaurants in the Mena region in the coming weeks, taking the total number of its restaurants in the region to 25.

The all-American burger chain pointed out that it will continue to move forward and execute its growth initiatives, with emphasis on entering new and unrepresented markets. Worldwide, Fatburger manages 200 restaurants in 32 countries, with another 300 in the development stage – making it one of the fastest growing restaurant franchises in the world.

In the Mena region, Fatburger already operates 22 restaurants in the UAE, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, Lebanon, Iraq and Tunisia, with over 550 employees in its team.

Additionally, Fatburger will open three new restaurants in Kuwait, Libya and Tunisia in the coming weeks.

Fatburger CEO Andy Wiederhorn pointed out that the opening of the new outlets will further allow the brand to expand its footprint in the markets while bringing the brand closer to its customers.

“This is a fantastic time for Fatburger as we push forward with our expansion in the Middle East and increase market share through our franchise model," he said.  “We are very excited about the opportunities we see ahead as we continue to tap into this market and build the brand’s profile further."

Fatburger’s new locations in the Middle East have been chosen based on certain criteria such as recent and projected growth rates, demographics and purchasing patterns.

The chain will open its third restaurant in Kuwait in the Salmiya locality, with UFC - Universal Food Company as the franchise owner. The brand will make its debut in Libya soon while, in Tunisia, it will be operated as a co-branded outlet along with Buffalo’s in La Marsa area. – TradeArabia News Service
