GCC to finalise plans on easing work, travel curbs

Labour ministers from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states are likley to finalise proposals on easing work and travel of both citizens and residents across member states by November aimed, a report said.

The ministers are currently exploring a series of moves to enhance job opportunities among GCC citizens and ease restrictions on expats, the Arab News quoted Kuwaiti Social Affairs Minster Hind Al-Sabeeh as saying in a  local newspaper report.

The Kuwaiti minister, however, declined to divulge further information on the issue.

GCC officials explored a series of steps in June aimed at enhancing job opportunities in the private sector and proposals for free movement of expats, the paper said.
