UAE coffee shop market to hit $112m

Abu Dhabi, June 9, 2014

The UAE’s coffee consumption market is set for remarkable growth and will be worth $112 million by 2017, according to research by Euromonitor.

Although, international franchises currently have a major share of the market, local and regional chains like Maison Maatouk are demonstrating that the market has a strong appetite for a fresh experience that blends the best of both worlds: international and Arabic flavours, said a statement.

Maison Maatouk has marked its latest milestone in its 54-year history after unveiling its fifth UAE branch at the Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi.

Jamal Saab, marketing manager, said: “We are immensely grateful to our loyal customers, and we respond to their tastes by continuously evolving our offerings to stay fresh and trendy. This is so much more than a coffee outlet: it’s an unsurpassed social experience, a vibrant hotspot for bonding in a soothing atmosphere, where our clientele is as diverse as the UAE itself.”

The coffee shop concept also has branched in Al Ain, Saudi Arabia and Lebanon, and is also set to open a new branch in Dubai. - TradeArabia News Service
