Bahrain CSB issues new rules for appointments

Manama, March 25, 2014

Bahrain's Civil Service Bureau (CSB) has issued new regulations of appointment to government entities.

This will develop a unified mechanism for selecting and attracting most suitable talents to fill vacancies and enhance transparency, said CSB president Ahmed Al Zayed yesterday.

Under the new rules, ministries and government bodies will have to inform the CSB about vacancies to be filled, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

The CSB ensures that appointment procedures are taken and exams and interviews have been carried out.

Conditions also stipulate that exams must be written and oral in addition to personal interviews.

All new employees must graduate from an administrative programme launched by Bahrain Institute of Public Administration.

Pensioners may be appointed on a part-time basis under a one-year renewable contract. - TradeArabia News Service
