Dubai launches procurement portal

The Dubai government has launched its official procurement portal, Supply2Dubai, which will act as the single online destination for all suppliers engaged for business with the Government.

Announcing the launch on Tuesday, Dubai eGovernment, the department in charge of  supervising eTransformation in the emirate, said the new site www.supply2dubai.gov.ae is being powered by Tejari.

Over 1,000 procurement professional from 33 departments access this portal to advertise upcoming tender opportunities, to search, select and evaluate suppliers and to award contracts.

The entire process is managed online, providing buyers and prospective suppliers with the most efficient, effective and transparent means of interaction with Government entities.

“Supply2Dubai is one more important step towards our goal of improving collaboration and connectivity between Government and the suppliers,” said Ahmad Bin Humaidan, the director general of Dubai eGovernment Department.

“Tejari is proud to support Dubai’s drive towards modernization of Government services through our best in class technology and quality professional services,” remarked Suhail Al Banna, chairman of Tejari.

Supply2Dubai, he stated, is further evidence of Dubai Government’s commitment to advanced technologies that simplify and improve its interactions with businesses and citizens.

'Through electronic procurement the Dubai Government delivers on its promise of accessibility, transparency and equal opportunity for the award of public contracts cultivating an increasingly dynamic, competitive and innovative supply-chain for the provision of goods and services to its Departments,' he added.-TradeArabia News Service
